The Passing of Undulata's Nutcracker
Tuesday, March 4, 2025
The most prolific sire of world’s champions the American Saddlebred has ever known, Undulata’s Nutcracker passed away last night (March 3) at the age of 24. Owned by Woodleigh Farm, the great son of world’s champion CH Caramac and Christmas In New York ERB (BHF) by The New York Times, topped Saddle Horse Report’s World’s Champion Sire Rating for a record-breaking 15 consecutive years. Among others, he is the sire of Three-Gaited World’s Grand Champions HS Daydream’s Heads Up, CH The Crowd Went Nuts!, CH Don O’Neil and CH Macadamia. He is also the sire of World’s Grand Champion Fine Harness titleholders, HS Daydream’s Head’s Up and Soul Desire.
In addition to being the Overall Number One Sire Of World’s Champions for 15 years, many of those years he was also number one in all of the divisions: five-gaited, three-gaited/park, fine harness, pleasure (park, show, country) and in hand.
A complete tribute to Nutcracker will be published in an upcoming issue of Saddle Horse Report.
